Modular forms appear prominently in number theory and also come
into play in other areas of mathematics as well as physics. In this talk I
will mention some basic properties of modular forms and describe the
distribution of their zeros. In particular, I will describe a relationship
between the equidistribution (w.r.t. hyperbolic measure) of L^2 mass of Hecke
cusp forms and the equidistribution (w.r.t. hyperbolic measure) of their
zeros. I will also describe some recent joint work of mine, which studies
these problems at smaller scales.
