Ludvig Olson: Hodge theory, moduli and period maps

Initially, the lecture discusses the notion of a Hodge structure on a vector space. We discuss the natural Hodge structure on the cohomology of any projective variety, and see how this varies in moduli spaces. We then construct period maps and explain some of their properties.

This talk precedes Collen Robles' colloquium talk  on “Hodge theory, moduli and completions” and is accessible to a broad audience (master and PhD students).
