Edoardo Mason: Metrics of constant scalar curvature between differential and algebraic geometry

Abstract

The aim of this talk is to motivate the problem of finding metrics of constant scalar curvature on Kähler manifolds. A major part of the talk will be dedicated to the case of Riemann surfaces, where we will compute explicitly such metrics. Then I will explain how the problem looks in higher dimension and, if time allows, show a glimpse of how this complex-analytic problem relates to the algebraic construction of moduli spaces of Fano varieties.
