The Minkowski sum of two sets A and B, in Euclidean space, is formed by adding each element of A to each element of B. If A and B are convex bodies so is A+B. Combining the concept of volume with this sum forms a cornerstone for the Brunn-Minkowski theory which is an important part of classical convex geometry. I will try to give a short introduction to some of the basic concepts in this theory.
