Sergey Korotov: New Bisection-Type Algorithms for Handling FE meshes

We present several new variants of bisection-type algorithms in the context of the finite element (FE) method for mesh generation and mesh adaptivity purposes. Various properties of generated FE meshes will be discussed in 2d and 3d. Some open problems will be formulated. The talk will be given in a form suitable for general mathematical audience.
