Abstract: We propose a boundary value correction approach for cases when curved boundaries are approximated by straight lines (planes). The approach allows for optimal order convergence for higher order polynomials in the setting of Nitsche’s method on cut elements. We give applications to the Laplace equation as well as the Stokes equation. We also discuss an extension to the case of Lagrange multipliers, optimal up to polynomial degree 3.
