Cancelled!! Danijela Damjanović: Global rigidity for partially hyperbolic large group actions

Abstract: I'll talk about some new results obtained in joint work with Spatzier, Vinhage and Xu. They are about actions of higher rank semisimple Lie groups, for example, G=SL(3, R). Homogeneous actions of G have dynamical properties: they have many partially hyperbolic and accessible elements. We show that if G acts smoothly on an arbitrary manifold with many partially hyperbolic elements and at least one of them accessible and volume preserving, then these dynamical properties force the manifold and the action to be (bi-) homogeneous. I'll try to give some background and explain the main methods behind this result.
