Abstract: In the first part of this talk, we will review some basic aspects of the Littlewood-Paley theory in the euclidean and in the periodic setting and briefly mention some of its applications.
Then, we will discuss about the endpoint mapping properties of the classical Littlewood-Paley square function in the periodic setting and state some related open problems.
