Networked Robust Stabilization: when gap meets two-port

We model the bi-directional communication channel between the plant and controller by a chain of uncertain two-port networks. We then study the robust stability of the networked feedback system with simultaneous gap metric uncertainties in the plant and controller, and additive uncertainties in the transmission matrices of the two-port networks. The robust stability is dictated by an "arcsin" inequality. This result shows that the gap metric description of the plant and controller uncertainties and the uncertain two-port description of the communication channel are remarkably harmonic.
