Tomas Persson: Dimension of piecewise hyperbolic attractors with overlaps

We study a general class of piecewise hyperbolic maps on bounded subsets of the plane. Assuming that the map satisfies a transversality condition we prove that the Hausdorff dimension of the attractor is what one might expect from the Lyapunov exponents.
