In this talk we will show how to describe global weak solutions. This question is of special interest since a lot of solutions of the Hunter-Saxton equation enjoy wave breaking within finite time and, in general, there are infinitely many possibilities to continue solutions thereafter. Furthermore, we will study the Lipschitz stability of the constructed solutions.
