Crumpling or packing of wires is a problem with motivation in many areas of physics and molecular biology. Here we will give a interpretation of the packing process as evolution of conformal maps on the unit disk. The relation to uniformization theory and to conformal field theory is explored to compute the spectra of scaling dimensions of operators in the Coulomb gas formalism.
