Abstract: It an unfortunate fact of mathematics that some continuous functions do not have a derivative. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed, which is done by considering functions as linear functional on the space of test functions. In other words, we introduce the concept of a distribution.
In this talk, we review the basics of distribution theory and introduce the concepts of "derivative", "integral" and "differential equation" in
the space of distributions.
