Density functional theory is one of the fundamental tools of theoretical chemistry. It allows to reformulate the problems in terms of variational principles. One fundamental assumption is that non trivial solutions to Schrödinger equations cannot vanish on a set of positive Lebesgue measure.
The present talk will address this problem in the presence of external magnetic fields.
