Abstract.
I will give a brief introduction to Efimov's continuous K-theory, and indicate applications to geometric topology. More specifically, I will explain how to prove composability of Becker-Gottlieb transfers for a large class of maps using "continuous THH", and time permitting, I will discuss a proof in this framework of the (topological) Dwyer-Weiss-Williams index theorem.
