Sofía Errazuriz: Constructing deformation cones

Abstract: When studying Minkowski sums of polytopes, a natural problem is to understand which polytopes are indecomposable and how general polytopes can be decomposed into sums of indecomposable ones. To address these questions, we will define the deformation cone of a polytope, and study two (or maybe three) ways they can be constructed. Using these constructions, we will analyze specific examples and prove that the deformation cone of the product of simplices is simplicial.
