In 2015, Lam introduced a "reduced" random walk on the alcoves of an affine Weyl group and proved that it has one of finitely many limiting directions, one for each Weyl chamber. He proved that these possible limiting directions may be computed using the stationary distribution of an irreducible and aperiodic Markov chain on the corresponding finite Weyl group. In joint work with Erik Aas, Arvind Ayyer and Svante Linusson, we computed these directions for types B, C and D by interpreting the Markov chains as certain totally asymmetric simple exclusion processes (TASEPs) and analyzing them using a combinatorial two-row model.
The lecture will be given on Zoom (Meeting ID: 697 5752 2185)
