Abstract: I'll give an account of the relationship between non-Archimedean analytic theta functions and tropical theta functions, and in particular the Riemann theta functions. I'll be very explicit in the case of the Jacobian of a Mumford curve. This gives a tropical tool for constructing sections of line bundles on abelian varieties with prescribed behavior on the skeleton.
