Gijs Heuts: Lie algebras and v_n-periodic spaces

ABSTRACT: Quillen showed that the homotopy theory of rational spaces can be modelled by differential graded Lie algebras or by cocommutative differential graded coalgebras. This talk will be about analogous results when one generalizes from rational homotopy to v_n-periodic homotopy (where rational is the case n=0). I will review what this means and outline an approach to these results using Goodwillie calculus.
