The lattices that bear the name of the mathematician Dov Tamari (1911-2006) have a very simple combinatorial definition. They are closely related to the notion of associativity, which is certainly central in mathematics. It turns out that they have much more connections to subjects of current interest. To name a few, they are related to cluster algebras and tilting modules, but also made a guest appearance in the study of diagonal invariants. I will advocate for the study of their (derived) categories of modules, as an interesting object about which knowledge is still very sparse.
