In this talk we consider a wireless telecommunications system setting and present problem formulations where the aim is to obtain good system performance. The system consists of base stations and mobile users. Each base station has an available frequency band to send information on. This frequency band is divided into orthogonal channels. Each user only communicates with one base station and is assigned one or more of its channels. The unknown variables are to which base station that each user should communicate and how much power to use on the different channels.
