A superrigidity phenomenon occurs when we can reconstruct the action of a Lie
group from that of a discrete subgroup. In Margulis’s famous superrigidity
theorem, the Lie group is large and the subgroup is a lattice. When the Lie
group is small, for example for R and the subgroup Z we have no such
superrigidity. We proved a surprising superrigidity phenomenon in partially
hyperbolic dynamics: under relatively mild hypotheses, one can reconstruct a
flow from the action of a diffeomorphism. This is joint work with C. Butler.

Please note the unusual starting time (12.30), due to the SMC colloquium.
