Diane Holcomb: Random Matrices and Operator Limits

Abtract: In this talk a brief introduction to the idea of using operators to characterize various limit processes of random matrices will be presented. We will introduce techniques that can be used to prove these limits, as well as methods for studying these processes. If time permits, current avenues of research interests will be discussed. This is intended to be an informal seminar and should be accessible to graduate students.
