David Rydh: Introduction to DAG-seminar

This is the first meeting of an informal seminar / reading group on derived algebraic geometry and related subjects. The preliminary plan is to discuss some of the following topics:

(1) Model categories (chain complexes, topological spaces, simplicial sets)
(2) Derived categories (abelian categories, sheaves on topological spaces, quasi-coherent sheaves, applications)
(3) Triangulated categories (only a little bit)
(4) Simplicial sets & simplicial rings
(5) Derived algebraic geometry
(6) Infinity-categories & stable infinity categories

I'll start with some personal motivations for why derived categories, derived algebraic geometry and infinity-categories are useful and natural in the context of algebraic geometry.
