Daniel Sánchez-Simón del Pino: Well posedness of boundary value problems for the Magnetohydrostatic equations

Abstract:

In this talk I will present some results concerning the well posedness for the classical MHS/Stationary Euler equations in two simple bounded domains. The mixture of hyperbolic and elliptic behaviour of the set of PDE makes choosing the adequate boundary condition a challenge. Therefore, I will focus mostly in a set of boundary conditions that were suggested by Grad and Rubin in the 1950’s, and explain how to adapt the existing methods to this case. This methods are based on the work by D. Alonso-Orán and J.L.L. Velázquez.
