Anna Montaruli: Torsion theories and their generations

In this talk, I will present, using a categorical approach, torsion theories and their generations in the abelian and in the homological setting. If time allows, I will give an idea of how the notion of torsion theories can be extended to non-pointed categories, together with their construction.
