Björn Selander: Elementary version of Giraud's non-abelian 2-cohomology

We will present an elementary version of Giraud's non-abelian 2-cohomology in the context of Galois cohomology. We derive its basic properties, and, if time permits, illustrate how such a cohomology class appears in nature with an example from the lifting theory of local group actions.
