Volodymyr Mazorchuk: (Higher) representation theory

Abstract

In this talk I want to present my point of view on what representation theory is and why it is useful. I would like to show, using a baby example, how classical representation theory transforms into higher representation theory, in particular, explaining what the latter one is. At the end, I plan to make a brief overview of some recent results and open probelms in higher representation theory.
