Yan Kuan: Dynamical Behaviors of A Class of Generalized Skew Shifts

Abstract: In this presentation I will talk about dynamical systems given by a generalized class of so called "skew shifts" T on the torus. Our thesis shows that for our specific type of systems there are two maps of the circle whose graphs are almost everywhere T-invariant. Moreover, one of them attracts almost every point in the torus. I will introduce the background of our system, the definition of the system, the main results and general ideas of the proof.
