Bashar Saleh: Non-commutative formality implies commutative formality

ABSTRACT: I will explain the ideas and techniques used to prove that a commutative dg algebra over a field of characteristic zero is formal as a dg associative algebra if and only if it is formal as a commutative dg algebra. We also present a consequence of this result in rational homotopy theory.
