Todd Quinto: A paradigm to understand added artifacts in limited data tomography

In this talk, we present a paradigm of Jürgen Frikel and the
speaker that explains the locations and properties of added artifacts
that appear in limited data tomography. We use microlocal analysis
(analysis of singularities and what differential and related operators
do to singularities) to understand the effect of data restriction, and
we describe our paradigm in general. We provide reconstructions from
real and simulated data photoacoustic tomography and the circular
transform to illustrate our theorems.
