Timo Betcke: Algorithmic and Computational Challenges of Boundary Element Methods
Tid: To 2016-01-21 kl 14.15 - 15.00

In recent years boundary element methods have developed from a niche application to a widely used tool in engineering to solve large-scale problems in homogeneous bounded and unbounded domains. In this talk we present an overview of some modern developments and challenges of the theory and implementation of boundary element methods, including fast solvers, high-frequency scattering and adaptive computations.
All topics in this talk will be accompanied by corresponding examples in BEM++ ( www.bempp.org ) a modern open-source boundary element environment developed at University College London.
