Shmuel Friedland: On symmetric tensors

Abstract: In this talk we discuss some special properties of symmetric tensors: the Comon conjecture on the equality of two ranks of symmetric tensor; Banach's theorem on the spectral norm of symmetric tensor, its generalization to nuclear norm,  and approximation of symmetric tensors; the entanglement of symmetric tensors in quantum mechanics and their computations.
