Sebastian Öberg: Equality in Green's hyperplane restriction theorem

We provide the theoretical background needed to understand Green's hyperplane restriction theorem and we study when equality holds in the inequality of the theorem. We present existing research on the subject and then we show what kind of restrictions we get on generic initial ideals in order to achieve equality in the theorem. We also use computed Plücker embeddings to find the underlying geometry of equality in Green's hyperplane restriction theorem.
