Per Alexandersson: Skew Schur polynomials from stretched SSYT:s satisfy a linear recurrence

We start with an introduction to the world of "boxes with numbers", a.k.a Young tableaux and symmetric polynomials. We proceed to a combinatorial proof that certain skew Schur polynomials obtained from stretched semi-standard Young tableaux satisfy a linear recurrence. If enough time, we say something how this is related to eigenvalue distribution of Toeplitz matrix minors.
