Peda Dizdarevic: Towards a rook-theoretic model for ASEP

We analyze the relationship between rook covers over Ferrers boards and the Asymmetric Exclusion Process (ASEP), a Markov process which models particles jumping on a line. A model based on such rook covers has been conjectured to be a model for ASEP. We present a draft of a possible proof by induction. Parts of the induction, as well as supporting evidence are provided.
