Nils Prigge: Invariants of foliated sphere bundles

Abstract

For a topological group one can study its continuous cohomology and compare it to the cohomology of the underlying (discrete) group. I will discuss two results about these notions of cohomology associated with the diffeomorphism group of spheres. In particular, I will showcase connections to more familiar objects in algebraic topology that are used in the proof.
