Abstract: In this talk I will explain how to use the method of compensated compactness, due to Murat & Tartar, to show convergence of sequences of approximate solutions of hyperbolic conservation laws. I will consider two examples: A standard parabolic regularization, and a class of high-order accurate numerical schemes.
