Michael Benedicks: Expansion properties for double standard maps

The talk will describe joint work with M. Misiurewicz and A. Rodrigues about a family of maps which are two fold coverings of the circle. The main result is that there is a dicotomy between for these maps, between sinks and uniformly expanding maps, in the interior of the parameter space.
