Maurice Duits: On a family of real solutions to the Painlevé II equation

Abstract

This talk will present some new results on solutions to the Painlevé II equation. We prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions that are characterized by their limiting behavior at minus infinity and the location of their first real pole. We also prove certain inequalities that these solutions obey.
