Indonesia is a country which has complex and multidimensional risks. As a developing country, most of the Indonesian people are farmers who depend on agriculture. Climate and natural disasters become the most important factor affecting crops.
One alternative to protect national agricultural system of various risks losses that may be experienced by farmers is to apply an agricultural insurance that has been proven successfully implemented by some developed countries. One type of agricultural insurance that has successfully implemented is Group Yield Insurance owned by Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) in the United States of America. We will apply this model as an alternative to Indonesian agricultural insurance.
Another interesting topic is Earthquake Insurance. Indonesia is a meeting area of 3 big tectonic plates. How to minimize loss generated by earthquake? In this presentation, we will discuss about stochastic model for earthquake by using spatio-temporal point process corresponding to earthquake events. Furthermore, we develop an earthquake risk map in Java Island and construct an earthquake insurance model in Java Island.
Keywords: Premium, agricultural insurance, Group Risk Plan, earthquake insurance, spatio- temporal point process
