Mark Adler: An Asymmetric Discrete Tacnode Kernel

Abstract:

 Using a non-convex Aztec Diamond we compare two different types of tiling. One which creates a symmetric discrete tacnode kernel and one which creates an asymmetric discrete tacnode kernel and we try to understand the structural differences and the implications for then imposing Airy scaling.
