Luca Fiorindo: An introduction to the Vasconcelos number

Abstract.

The Vasconcelos number, also known as the v-number in the literature, is a new algebraic invariant related to associated primes of some graded ideal/module. In this work, we present motivations for this invariant and explore recent research directions. In the final section, we will specifically focus on its asymptotic properties, highlighting similarities with other invariants. This is a joint work with Dipankar Ghosh.
