Kelly Bickel: Compressions of shifts on two-variable model spaces

Abstract: There are many classic geometric and analytic results about compressions of the shift on one-variable model spaces, especially ones associated to finite Blaschke products. In this talk, we will generalize such questions to the bidisk and in particular, define compressions of shifts on two-variable model spaces associated to rational inner functions. We show that these have nice analytic interpretations, which allow us to study the geometric properties of their associated numerical
ranges and radii. This is joint work with Pam Gorkin.
