In this talk we consider upper semi-continuous compact-valued (usco) maps from a topological space into a Banach lattice. We show that the set of minimal usco maps is a Riesz space (vector lattice), and some properties of this space are investigated. The relationship between usco maps and (point-valued) semi-continuous functions is discussed, and an application is made to the construction of the Dedekind completion of the space of continuous functions from a compact space into a Banach lattice.
