As a preparation for a possible structure theory for the infinite-dimensional Lie algebras in the title of the talk, I will use hyperplane arrangements as an example. Recall that Sturmfels and White have determined the rational coordinatizations of the 229 configurations 12_3 and the 31 configurations 11_3. Bokowski and Sturmfels have also obtained similar results for 9 of the 10 10_3 configurations (all definitions will be given in the talk).  I will use these results as well as the programs Macaulay2, liedim (Clas L\"ofwall)  and Bergman (J\"orgen Backelin et al.) to determine their homological properties and in particular the structure of the corresponding graded infinite dimensional Lie algebras.
