Introduction to indefinite scalar product spaces

The mini course starts by introducing the concept of indefinite scalar products, i.e. hermitian sesquilinear forms. We will study elementary concepts such as the degree of negativity and orthogonal complements, where we will meet also significant differences to the classical theory of scalar product spaces, where the hermitian sesquilinear form in addition is assumed to be positive definite. Finally, we deal with indefinite scalar product spaces that can be seen as generalizations of Hilbert spaces.
