Ingemar Bengtsson: Evolutionary constraints and Ashketar's variables

My talk will come in three parts: First I introduce Racz' reformulation of Einstein's constraint equations as a symmetric hyperbolic system coupled to a parabolic equation. Then I introduce Ashtekar's new variables. (They received this name forty years ago.) Finally I sketch an attempt by Racz and myself to formulate Ashtekar's constraints as an evolutionary system.
