Abstract
Computer vision is the perceptual aspect of artificial intelligence. One important part of this intelligence is reconstruction problems. These deal with creating 3D models from given 2D images of real world objects taken with cameras. Applications include self-driving cars, robots, city planning and moviemaking. Algebraic vision can be described as the mathematical modelling and description of such problems. In this talk we give an overview of reconstruction problems, an introduction to algebraic geometry and some new results in this field.
