Esa Vesalainen: Exponential sums related to cusp forms

Exponential sums have been an important topic in analytic number theory for a century. If one cares about automorphic forms, then exponential sums weighted by the Fourier coefficients of such a form are of great interest. We will discuss some central questions about the estimation of such sums while hopefully positioning them into a larger picture of analytic number theory.
